ISPAD Partners
Nepad is a partnership
The NEPAD e-Africa Commission conducts its work by creating and fostering partnership between governments, business and civil society. The partnership created by the Commission for the purpose of fulfilling the objectives of the NEPAD ICT Programme is known as the Information Society Partnership for Africa 's Development (ISPAD).
Projects will be accomplished by bringing together skills, resources, capabilities and other contributions of members of ISPAD and other partners. A partnership will be created for each project by bringing together partners who are interested and capable of making a definite contribution to the actualization of the project.
Partners are welcome to take an interest in one, some or all of the projects of the Commission. Partners will commit themselves to work for the success of the Commission and its programmes.
Partners will support the work of the Commission with intellectual, material, financial, organizational or other resources and may be requested to harness their connections in the corporate, governmental, philanthropic or civil sectors in support of the Commission's work.
Partners from the business sector that accept special responsibility to facilitate the work of the Commission and undertake financial and other obligations in support of the Commission and the success of its programmes are known as Foundation Partners.
The Commission will endeavor to convene an annual meeting of partners known as the ISPAD Forum, whose purpose is to discuss broad issues of policy, technology, implementation and resources that have impact on the operation of the Commission and the success of the NEPAD ICT Programme. The ISPAD Forum will then make recommendations for consideration by the Executive Committee of the Commission.
The ISPAD Forum will be comprised of governmental, intergovernmental, business, non-profit and civil society entities that are significant contributors to the work of the Commission and have made a commitment to the accomplishment of the goals of the NEPAD ICT Programme.
